Too much CO2 in the atmosphere.

After watching this video, I made a connection between our world and the Mesopotamians. Mesopotamians irrigated the land to farm and grow crops. Their population grew. However, the salt in the rivers where they pulled the water from to irrigate the land, had salt in it. The salt caused the land to die. The land could not grow any more crops! The Mesopotamians then crumbled and disappeared.

In today's technology, maybe the history is repeating itself again. With the technology we are using, we are emitted CO2 into our atmosphere, which is causing our Earth to heat up, which might bring the mass extinction that could affect the human species greatly. I think the current scenario is just like Mesopotamians, but in a bigger scale.
